Sometimes the best thing about being a custom wedding dress designer is when the custom wedding dress… isn’t a dress at all.
Bailey, one of the coolest girls we know (and we know a lot of cool girls!), came to us with a vision for her non-traditional reception look: a sparkly showstopper with disco Cher vibes. We said, sign us up!
What came from the design process was one of our favorite looks to date: a three-piece set featuring a corset-style top, flared bell-bottom pants, and detachable high-drama bell sleeves. Everything was covered in an all-over sequin pattern, trimmed in white feathers, and made to move, because one of Bailey’s biggest priorities was feeling comfortable enough to dance the night away. That, and being able to take those sleeves off when she got hot!
Sounds amazing, right? But we haven’t even told you the best part yet. We added a light-up feature to both the pants and the sleeves, an interactive surprise that lit up the dance floor and wowed every guest. It was our first time playing with this kind of design, and we were obsessed. As you’ve probably noticed, we’ve always had a little bit of a flair for the theatrical!
Bailey finished the look with sky-high platform boots and a matching feather-trimmed veil (also by MC, of course!), making this set equal parts Studio 54 and just plain iconic.
